What is Occupational Therapy? *
Occupational Therapy involves the assessment and treatment of deficits in activities of daily living. A few of the areas addressed include: upper extremity injuries and rehabilitation, fine motor skills, dexterity, cognition, job site evaluation, home evaluation, and self-care, all with the goal of maximizing an individual's independence.

Services typically include:
- Patient and family education - provides you with practical and useful information relevant to your situation and strategies for improving your function and preventing re-injury.
- Assessment of skills and recommendations for adaptive equipment.
- Home or job site assessments with recommendations for adaptation or modification.
- Work programs.
- Ergonomic education.
- Functional capacity evaluation.
- Exercise to specifically address your strength, range of motion, and function designed to progress you to maximum independence.
- Manual therapy to address upper extremity injury and post-surgical rehabilitation.
- Modalities including heat, cold, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, iontophoresis and other means to promote healing, neuromuscular reeducation, strength, tissue pliability, and function.
